OH, and like I stated, it is the LAW in Canada if you want to bearhunt, you must have an outfitter. It isn't a law to lease land.
I was ad-libbing on this HCH. Its law apparently to use an outfitter in canada.. so says you.

So if it was law to only hunt with a lease than would it be okay? I'm just curious.

He's gotta get drawn for a tag, any tag, first! All that land, BUT so few tags!!
80% of tags to residents and 11 big game species; I'll be doing plenty of hunting.[8D]Plus over the counter elk bow tag CO hunt near Durango this year.

While i don't like the idea of leasing hunting rights after growing up working for area farmers and having more ground than i could ever hunt at my disposal, it is fact of life that leasing(and outfitting)is here to stay in my home state of Illinois. I have several irons in the fire on leasing ground and fully expect to have it done in the next month or so. If you would have told me 20 years ago it would have come to this, i would have told you to pass me some this way. Thankfully, i'm a Union Steelworker and i can afford to lease enough ground for myself. I will still utilize Public ground during the week, when the pressure is a little less.

Hey HCH a lot of outfitters lease land in canada, oh I get it. Does not bother you unless it helps you

Why are you spending money in Canada? Since they passed their guns laws and spring bear ban I have commited not to send them my money. Maybe if more did so we could get a vote changed. Instead of giving them our money.

Nice work
To tell you the truth, I like hunting over for bait for bears and MN is the only state, that I am aware of, that has a decent population of bears and allows baiting. I have bear hunted twice in MN and was not impressed with their quanity and quality of bears. I did take a nice 300 # er near Orr though.
Thats surprising! There bear quality and population is outstanding. Been doing it for 20+ years up there in Northern Minnesota.

What, NM doesn't have any Over the counter tags. Must be a reason. Here we go, another non-resident coming to CO., must be a reason!

Way past Miller time for me folks. My final word is that this is an issue that people can actually try to do something about instead of just arguing to the point that it becomes personal. If folks spent half as much time raising hell with their legislators as they do on here, then something likely would get done. Think about it.

So says me???????? What's that suppossed to mean? I have been going to Canada all of these years with my head up my butt not knowing the laws? For your information, a bear tag is only sold through an outfitter, you don't apply for them or go into walmart and buy one. Thanks for the sarcasm though and right back at ya.

So if it was law to only hunt with a lease than would it be okay? I'm just curious.
Where am I only allowed to hunt with your law of the lease question? It makes no sense to me.
