That may have been the saddest statement I have ever heard in my entire life. Wow. Okay, back to rational thoughts here. I Saw "Take/Took/Harvest" Why? Because it is for one politically correct. It also shows a great deal of respect to the animal and its creator as wahoohunter said. Harvest is by definition (along with references to fruits/vegetables) to catch, take, or remove for use. So, for all you hunters out there who "just hunt for meat" are you not harvesting the deer instead of killing it. Sure, you are killing it, but for what purpose. If you want took that deer's life for consumption then you harvested it. If you took that deer's life "just for the hell of it" and let it go to waste, then yes you killed it.

havest/kill/get doesn't bother me, though I find it annoying when someone uses the word "catch" of coruse its almost always a clueless non hunter, but i hear it alot, why would someone think you "catch" something when hunting? I leave the net at home, along with the fishing pole, what about you?

Wow, cannot say I ever thought the desire to be politically correct would be a challenge to my manhood. If it makes you more of a man to say kill rather than harvest, then at 18 (the age where I SHOULD be entering manhood) I admit that I have a long way to go before I become a 'man'.

Well unlike many here, I am a Real Hunter. I hunt naked and I run down my prey and kill it with my bare hands. So you could probably say I caught it and you woudn't be far off.

I apologize for my ignorance towards simley faces. Still, while you may have felt that comment was directed towards you (and it partially was) it was also directed towards everyone who really does think that saying harvest makes you less of a man.

I agree... I use a lot of "like" words,similar toHarvest. It just depends on the situation & individual, and a lot of the times, just what happens to come out. Personally, I don't find the word "Harvest" degrading to me as a hunter, even if spoken from one hunter to another.
