Honest to God, Don......you are laughable.

What....in God's name.....is your motive for putting down the animals a man hunts? What could be your agenda? Answerme that. I'm curious.

And for the record....I'll likely hunt 4 states in '08.
Im not sure calling NC deer small is putting them down, just stating the facts. Heck YOU have even said this numerous times in the past.
I think hes just trying to say that your 80+ ft/lbs of KE is more than enough for nearly any animal on the planet. And on the exact same bow, the 60 lb limbs are generally quieter than the 70 lb limbs.

When you get your limbs in, be sure to test this theory, as you will have both limbs for the exact same bow. Im honestly curious as to whether this is truely fact or just a myth. From my experiences, agreed that they are limited compared to most on here, 60 lb limbs are quieter, but not enough for it to make a difference hunting IMO.

Basically what Jeff has said, IF you are going to shoot this bow in excess of 100 -200 times a week for 3-d/target archery, get the lighter limbs so you do not kill yourself, wheras if you are hunting and shoot it 10 to 20 times a week stick with the heavier limbs ( it will help you build msucle anyway) I think i interpreted this right[8D]

I just did this. Took 70 limbs off of my bow and put on 60 limbs. Shot them both maxed out, at about 65/55 and at about 60. I did not notice any difference in sound. It was just as quiet every time. With a noise supressor it was even quieter. On this particular bow I did not even notice a difference in noise from max to minimum on either limbs.

If you are shooting lower poundage for the quietness then I would think you would shoot 500gr+ arrows for the quietness too and a more efficient energy transfer(reason for the quietness)plus a high FOC for the penetration, especially at lower DW's.

thanks, thats whatI was curious about. I guess my arguement is a moot point anyway....I shoot 70 lb limbs, has a string supressor, and my arrows are just under 500, i think 478ish. Plenty quiet for my woods.

Jeff, are you going to ever hunt anything bigger than a NC small bodied fragile whitetail?

Not putting down; but a 60# bow is still 15 lbs over the recommended kinetic energy to kill an Alaskan Brown bear. NC deer and all southern deer are small bodied. Just stating facts. Why 70#? Light pound bows are quieter. I live in a a household with two lighter poundage shooters than myself and I also know that my 60# bow is quieter than my 70# bow. Facts.

Dude, because we like it, and we can. You like 60# and that's great. Knock yourself out. I have been bowhunting for a very long time and love to try out gear and I will tell you that drawing and holding my bow with 70# limbs set at 67# was much more comfortable than shooting a bow that would produce the same KE as my bow at 10 lbs. less. Oh, and my bow is quieter too. Even with my draw weight that high I still don't blow through every puny PA or NJ whitetail that I shoot, so I'm not changing a thing.

I like easy on my Body. I used to hunt with 90#, then 80#, then 70#, Like Don says 60# is just easier on the body. I shot a 90# bow last year at the range with some young guys just to proveto myself I could still do it. Makes me realize how much needless wear and tear I put on my joints all those years. You shoot bows for 40 years and chances are your joints will wish you hadn't used so much overkill. I know I wish I had switched to 60# years before I finally did. A lot ofBowhunters are beginning to see the light.
