RE: Leave the quiver on or take it off?

only thing i use my quiver for is to carry my arrows to and from the stand. dont shoot with it on and dont hunt with it on. just somethin else to get in the way...and, i lay my bow on the side across the front of my Viper...cant do that with the quiver on.

i have practiced with it on and has no ill effect on the shot...just dont do it real regularly because i dont hunt with it on there...highly doubt i ever get a shot walking to my stand...but i do practice with it once in a while just incase...

might take me an extra few seconds to grab an arrow, but in that couple seconds, i can collect myself and make a better second shot if its present...

How fast can you get off a second ......third.....fourth shot......if you had to?

That's the only reason I hunt with a quiver on. If I wanted convenience.....I'd hunt with it off, too. I practice with it on.....hunt with it on. I've emptied it before.

I hunt with mine on for one reason........follow up shots. I can fire off follow up shots pretty quickly.....and I've emptied my quiver mre than once.

My '07 buck I just got back......I got off 4 shots at him......hitting him 3 times in a span of maybe 20 seconds. If I'd had to fumble with a quiver elsewhere.......I KNOW I couldn't have done that.
Good point, GMMAT.... that's why I also ordered a few of these:
Second Chance (tm) Arrow Holder (pack of 3)

For convenience, I wish I could keep it on. I've experimented enough to know that my groups open right up with the quiver left on my bow, however. :(

If I'm in my ladder stand I take it off because of the wind. If in my blind it comes off.

Always off unless spot and stalking, but an arrow is always loose and within quick reach if I need it.Still waiting for that hunt where I can shoot a doe and then immediately nock another arrow to shoot the buck trailing her.

I always take it off. It's too bulky. I end up hitting my arrows on every limb, branch, and on my stand. If I leave it on, I can't hang my bow on the tree the way I like. And if it's on, I also can't rest it on my lap. And it throws off my bows balance, affecting accuracy.

The only reason I'd keep it on is for spot and stalk, but I rarely do that.
Ya, what he said!

I take mine off when stand hunting.
i have an Alpine 5 arrow quiver, and I bought a device that I can screw into the tree and attatch the quiver to. That way I have my arrows close by and easy to get at, and out of the quiver.
