Barry Bonds--Bowhunter
 

I was at a hunting show this weekend where Lee and Tiffany said that they met Barry Bonds recently and Bonds told them that he recently picked up bow hunting and it has changed his life. Bonds said that he was through with baseball and all of that, and he has become completely obsessed with Bowhunting and it has given him a completely new perspective on things.

moral of the story? Bowhunting turns lives around!:D

I guess that's another great thing about bowhunting, it's one of the few sports that don't require drug testing.

Well, hopefully Barry will find more peace and tranquility in bowhunting than he did in baseball. With those guns of his he can probably shoot broadhead tipped Louisville sluggers at the deer.:D

I'll makeBarry a custom UltimateCamo hat!! Hopefully he will really enjoy bowhunting for what it is. Some of my best alone moments are done while bowhunting, lots of time to think, reflect and then have adrenaline rushing through your viens all within seconds lol.

OH GREAT[8D] Im sorry but im not excited about hearing Barry Bonds becoming a bowhunter. I personally have no respect for the man. But if it is true and it has changed his life then Great , and I hope it brings him many years of happiness. But this mans blatent disreguard for the rules worries me. JMHO Take it for what its worth

I'm with ya here Chad, I don't particularly care for the guy either. He's also not very fond of WHITE people, except women he can use and occasionally beat up on. In all honesty though, the guy really AIN'T that big. He's only about 230#, which is a few # shy of what I weigh, he's a little better built, but hell if I used steroids, and got to spend my entire life working out, rather than being a DAD, working on home improvement projects, working 36-60hrs a week night shift, and all the other things I do, that are part of being a responsible adult, I'd be WAY bigger than him. Matter of fact, I got back into working out after deer season officially ended, and hope to be in pretty good shape in a few months.

If Barry got into bowhunting, it'd probably be on a HF ranch where there was a GUARANTEED kill. Just my $.02 though.

I agree with you Jeff, I think its more likely they were talking to Bo Jackson but then again stranger things have happened. Like Bobby Knight taking up turkey hunting a few years ago and loving it.

But personally I can't stand Barry Bonds and it wouldn't hurt my feelings if he crawled in a big hole and never came out. I think it's Bo too.

But if it were Barry, I'd say we should all welcome him with open arms and teach him everything we can about archery, bowhunting, and hunting ethics. If more "celebrities" were bowhunters, it would only help our cause.

I hate that steriods corrupted baseball, but people should remember it wasn't just Barry Bonds doing it. It was McGuire, Sosa, Clemens, Pettit, Giambi, Canseco, and thousands of other role players you never even heard of. It was guys in AAA who never even made the "show". Steroids were part as much a part of the game as snuff and pumpkinseeds in the dugout.

To single out Barry is unfair. He's just the biggest name, andhe wasn't nice enoughto the media, and he broke the biggest record in baseball. But he was just doing what everybody else was doing. Doesn't make it right. It is what it is.

I'd gladly welcome him to the forum if he ever posted.

I ran into him and asked him in draw weight........120# shooting arrows at 450fps. Said he's not giving up the HGH, then he'd have to pull a 90# bow, and that just won't cut it for barry!

Matthews now has "The Barry"most of us will need the HGH too, only comes in 100# and 120# 50% let-off.
it's designed for bowhunting elephants.
