There is no best broadhead and most on the market work very well. IMO if you shoot a light setup stay with fixed heads.
It really does have a lot to do with your setup. There is No Best head. Fortunately there are several quality heads to choose from. I too prefer fixed blades. I have no intention of giving Murphy an opening.

Rage 2-blade!

The most consistent devastating BH out there!

Take a look at all the threads and posts about the Rage and what they have done. It has consistently created larger entrance and exit holes, which in turn leaves larger and easier blood trails, and also puts the animal down quicker.

It's about time Ratus called you out again!!!

Muzzy 100 grain 3 blade

Used them for the past 15 years and over taken over 70 whitetails, one mule deer, one hog, one turkey, and one bear with zero failures

RemGirl,

As some others have noted without knowing your set up it is hard to recommend the best broadhead FOR YOU. So, if you would indulge us and post up your set up (draw weight, draw length, weight of your arrow, arrow speed, etc.) we can better make a recommendation for you.

BTW, I love your avatar.

I can't believe some of you guys are suggesting the Rage 2 Blade for her just because you use them. She has been the same one asking about bows and light poundages. I bet she will be starting with 40 lbs for hunting, she needs a cut on contact broadhead NOT THE RAGE, it's common knowledge that you need to shoot more than 40 or 45 lbs so you are not taking a chance. I shoot Slick Trick 100 Magnums and would not suggest them to her because they are not cut on contact. Buy a good strong cut on contact broadhead RemingtonGirl.

I was just having some fun with the rage groupies. :D

Silver flames are way to expensive. Spitfires would be a good head for a newbe. Very forgiving and no rings to fool with. Work up to a fix blade replaceable.

For low KE bows, I'd still recommend my 3 blade muzzys. I've taken numerous deer and hogs with only 37footpounds of energyand a muzzy 3 blade.
