New PA State Record Archery Non-typical: Updated page 1 & 3

Hey guys, I haven't seen anything here on this, but came across it on a PA site.

http://www.mcall.com/sports/outdoors/all-s-recordbuck0205.6231946feb05,0,2046559.story

If this was posted already I apologize, but this deer deserves some recognition.

Rybo, have you heard about this buck?

The article says the buck was around 4 1/2 years old. It's great to see the potential our state has.

Edit: The buck was officially scored by a panel of 3 Boone and Crocket Club scorers and he officially scored 211 6/8" gross and 208 1/8" net breaking a 20 year old record of 203 3/8".

Here are a couple of other pics.

And the old record:

Yea, but I don't remember the whole story. I think it was just a rather simple guy was out hunting and killed the deer. I don't think he'd been chasing it for years or anything. I've seen other pictures and if I remember correctly he was using a bow that looked ot be 20+ years old. Kind of neat. I believe it was shot in westmoreland co.
I have a newspaper clipping at work that has that one and another near 200" buck that was shot with a gun. I actually heard about the 200"er from an old buddy, but didn't put much stock in him. Turns out he was dead on.

If you check the article it says it was shot near South Strabane Township, which I have no idea where that is and I grew up in Allegheny County. He had heard of the buck, but never saw it until the day he shot it. The farmer had only seen it maybe once a year during the rut at night.

It was shot with a Hoyt Provantage, Easton Aluminum arrows and a Wasp 4 blade broadhead. It looks like that old stuff still does the job on the big ones too.;)

Notice what the guy with the old record is wearing (GregH).:D

Yea I saw that on here. Wasnt that shot in Eastern PA ? PA has is made, they have got the NJ genetics to the East, NY genetics to the North and Ohio genetics to the West!!

Or it could be all of those states leeching off of our superior genetics.;)

So if it is indeed a potential state nontypical record, what is the estimated score or score for the matter?

It sure is a hell of a whitetail. Odd there isn't more about it.
