i would like to see different camera angles , a camera down further so you can keep the deer in the frame as it goes down ,the impact shot and a close up of where the shot placement was afteryou show how you tracked it .a map and terain of the area and why you picked that stand placement

I didn't read all the posts on this subject because I came in in the middle, so if I repeat what others wrote, I apologize.
I would like to see a show thats not a running advertisement for brands x,y, and z.
I would like to see a show that explains everything they did as far as set up, and why they did it.
I want to see a show that has a hard core average Joe hunter(like me) hunting his own property or public land(not a super ranch). Reality not fantasy.
Although that might not be so exciting, it would be a nice dose of real life hunting that I know and love.

Oh, and when the hunter of the day makes a bad shot, how about some regret and remorse, instead of elation and fist pumping. The age of slo-mo, tivo, and freeze frame is here. A little humility is in order sometimes.

RE: About A Hunting Video..

It took me a looong time to drag my buck to the truck. It would be a pretty boring video. (tho' it may be entertaining to watch me jump up and down on one end of the deer cart trying to get the buck off the ground... and then the part where the buck and cart flipped on to it's side was pretty frickin' hilarious [:@])

Personally, I don't want to see too much footage of looking at maps and explaination of why the stands are hung where they are. I figure you put them where you think the deer are going to be and where the wind is good. ;) Put that boring stuff in the bonus features.

I do like to see slow mo' of the shot, I guess the outdoor channel doesn't allow it but a dvd could have it. I also like to see, on the dead deer, where the entrance and exit was and tell us how far the thing went. I hate the covers all 'I made a good hit on him' even when it clearly wasn't. I hate the fake blood trailing. (just look for your cameraman, he's standing right next to the deer.)

Another peeve.. when the shooter won't touch the animal he/she just killed or the zoom in showsjust the hunter and the deer's rack. Just showing a rack being man handled and shaken (that sounds funny) seems more disrespectful than any fist pumping after the shot. It's a whole deer you just killed, not just some bone.

I do like a bit of a story. If you've planned this trip for months.. do show very, very brief clips of the planning, packing, changing a flat tire in the rain on the way there (this seems to happen on my trips). Show Justin singing along with Bryan Adams during the drive. (hahaha)

I think you and J shooting your first 40+lb bighead carp would make for some interesting footage as well. ;):D

I didn't read this whole post... So if this has been said I appoligize.
When I started hunting and watching hunting shows I wanted to learn from them. Some of the first videos I watched weren't to bad but they push products more than teaching a hunter how to hunt. Mostly its "Use this product and you'll kill bucks like this" ... I understand that you have to have sponsors but teach us something... Not just push a new product.

EXACTLY........two fold.

ORIGINAL: buckeye

Bow only.... Buck and doe hunts..... All DIY style hunts, no outfitted or restricted accesslands.... A host and hunter who knows and sounds like they know what they are doing.

I'm not to picky... Just show it how it really is, I just hate the "fakeness" and OVER editingof a lot of shows.

I like

Over the shoulder kill shots.
Get in the woods, away from the food plots.
Tell us why you chose that spot.
Show it to us on aerial photos and maps.
Show us the deer before you shoot it, lots of footage.
Impact shots.
I wanna see the animal fall over.
Show us the ones that don't commit suicide too.

I don't like:

All of the HOLLYWOOD EDITING. MY pet peeeeeeeeeeve!![:'(](Drury's)
Sitting on top of food plots and feeders.
10 year old kids haveing to wait for that "management buck" and passing up 100 deer waiting for him.
Doing a calling sequence with the sun in your eyes, and the deer responding in 2 seconds with the sun to your back.
10 second hunts and a buck on the ground.
Using the latest useless scents and calls.
