*EVIDENCE* IR spooks some deer (Pics)

Look how when the buck sees the IR flash that it doesnt just turn around, It BOLTS back in the other direction and is out of sight within miliseconds. Hope i didnt screw up that spot because i got a stand just ten yards from that camera and i have a feeling that buck will be nice next year. He also made a brand new scrape (i think its him) at the top up the hill.

*The date is wrong by two days By the way*

That is very interesting. I don't know about the IR cameras to formulate an opinion, but the pictures do show the buck getting out of there quick.

I wouldn't worry about him being spooked from the area next year though.

It's hard to say whether it was the IR light or the noise from the filter that moves on those cameras, could be either one, or a combination of both. The IR cameras are still a lot more subtle than a flash camera by a long shot.

Great picture andvery interesting observation.I am not sure if it is the IR or the noise camera may have made that startled deer.As we all no when there is snow on the ground you can hear a pin drop so it may have sounded really loud to a deers senses.Interesting none the less.

As you know, whitetails are very skittish animals. Could of been the IR or could of been one of many other things going on that was coincidental at time of picture.

But for arguments sake, lets assume it was the IR. I am still 100% confident that the effect of IR flash scaring of deer is nominal whereas a conventional flash is not.

If you want to go to extremes and make sure you never spook a deer, don't even enter your hunting area for any reason or anytime of the year except for hunting.

Ha i would rather have an IR go off on me than my brother's cudde..It went off probably 6 times during the season, and it scared the CRAP out of me everytime.

From one picture I guess we could determine that they were afraid of feeders, too. Remember.......Kelly/KY had a picture of a buck by a feeder that was kicking up a storm.

'Course.....the rest of that story is.....he had an arrow zipping through his body at about the same time the camera went off.

I don't think individual instances can tell us anything substantially towards "proof", though.
