For strictly bowhunting.....I don't see spending any more than $150.

Bushnell sport is accurate to 450yds to within +/- 1 yd.

have a bushnell 450 paid about 130.00 & it works great for bowhunting . i've never tried it on anything long distance

I use a Nikon 440. You can get them for about $170...

I've got the Nikon 440. A few things I like about it.........

I've had it for 3 years now and it's on the same battery. I use this thing a LOT too, in the summer I'm using it all the time to practice yardage judging for 3D. I bought an extra battery 2 years ago to keep in the archery tackle box I keep in my car, but I just haven't needed it yet.

The bushnell I tried in the past had a hard time reading through blind mesh, and through minor brush. My Nikon works perfectly in these situations.

I've dropped my Nikon from 20+ feet up a tree at least a half dozen times, and it just keeps ticking. I've also dropped it from 20+ feet up into 10" of standing water, where it sat long enough for me to climb down from a tree in a climber, and when I got down there, pulled it out....no fogging, no nothing. Works perfectly.

This thing isa soldier and I honestly can't imagine wanting anything else.

Those are good points, Matt......but I don't hunt out of my blind with the mesh down.....ever.

If I did.....I'd look for that model.

I have the Bushnell scout that i got for a present from my grandpa when i graduated highschool. This one is a bit more pricey at like 250$ i think. but a great small one haded operation rangefinder.

I bought the Leica CRF1200, only because I got one heck of a deal on it. They go for 650$ new. I love the compactness, the battery life is great. It will warn you when the battery is low, and even after that you have 200 times more you can squeeze the trigger before the battery is totally dead. The best thing I like about it is the red dot, it jumps out at you.
