I would love to take my daughter Jason...except that my wife is not a huge fan of hunting...she loves that I love it but I don't think she would like my daughter going. Only thing is, Isabel loves to shoot a bow! She always asks me to buy her a faster and better one....my son stalks around in the front yard with his little bow and pretends to shoot a "buck deer" when the arrow really hits a bush! hahahaha! I have a third on the way so looks like it will be years of babies and diapers.

My kids are young (3, 4, and 5). But I try to involve them as much as I can.
They already shoot a compound bow (Cartel Mini with a whisker biscuit set at 9 lbs). I let them shoot with me when I practice in the back yard.
If I get a deer, the kids love it when I hang it from the monkey bars on their swing set to drain / age before processing. The wife doesn't care for it, but the kids think it's cool!
I'll let them help mefind a dead deer, if it's a heavy, short blood trail that's easy to follow.
My son has a Rudolph deer that he "stalks" around the house and pretends to shoot with his bow. He then loads it up in the back of his plastic dump truck and drives it to his room. It's hillarious
.
And every time my kids see any guy with long hair they ask if that's "Uncle Ted."
I can't wait to get them in a blind with me.

My 2 girls are both grown and have families now. I taught them both to shoot and always included them in my hunting as much as possible. My advice is enjoy every age!! It doesn't last long

My 13 yr old just got into hunting this past fall. He took a hunter safety course w/some of his friends, & I think the shotgun shooting hooked him. We just bought his slug gun last week, & he's pumped for this yr.

My wife wasn't crazy about my daughter going either. But she's realized both of us love it. I started by taking my daughter out with me just to watch. Generaly in the middle of the day for a short time. Realy not expecting to see anything. After several years of that my wife didn't totaly freak when I said our daughter was going to be the one hunting last year. She was uneasy about her using a gun but she is in 4H shooting sports and shoots all the time and safely. So my wife let her go. Now my wife just rolles her eyes when my daughter and I relive her close encounter with that nice 8 point. LOL I just laugh. I know it will probably be presiously short of a time my daughter will care to go but I want to take advantage of the time I have. Soon enough she won't want anything to do with me. LOL I hope not but girls are weird.
