Well quite a bit of interesting info on here all things considered. I cannot shoot my bow right now, but am curious how canting it 45 degrees will affect it. I can visualize what will happen...but everybody can aparently;). Can everyone tell there is a blizzard on in the midwest anyway?

I too think that most bad shots in hunting situations are a result of the shooter. Everyone should try shooting in the most uncomfortable positions they can think of and they will realise what can happen. For instance stand with your right foot toward the target at 30 yards (assuming right handed) and twist all the way around so you can get the pin on target and make the shot.

At 25 yards the difference is little and I can see getting the results at that distance, now back off to 50 yards and do the same experiment and get back to us.

At normal HUNTING" distances is what atlas is refering to. Jeff, we were discussing cant at farther distances and it still holds true. I promise you, if you cant your bow, you'll shoot off at farther distances.

It's definitely all about distance. The farther you are away from your intended target the more any differences will show up.;)

Just got back from the range. With my bow, canting45 degrees, 3-shotgroup centers are consistently 5" left and 2.5" low from point of aim at 25 yards. I guess if you consider that good enough, then more power to ya. :eek:

Arthur do you shoot a peep? So I know, I get about same results as you, but I do not shoot a a peep.
And being I am LH I miss the other way.

Interesting Arthur.

Do you center your peep housing.....or your pin? Not sure if it would make a difference....just wondering if it would. No one was more surprised, than me, last night when I tried to duplicate this (and admittedly I was in the 18-19 yd range). I did get the low hits....just not the left. I center my entire sight housing with my peep.

Did you find it hard to hold your bow in the cant? I don't use those muscles very often, it seems. And....it IS different.

Well I tried it to, at 10 yards..I don't know if canting is the right word, I had it as close to horizontal as I could and still see through my peep and sight.

I nearly missed my Block..I was low and way right.I wasn't even near a normal shooting position.
