RE: Got my new bow today!
sluedtke- The Katera has Hoyts new z3 cam and it makes for a bit smoother draw and a little better preformance. He was also shooting a 435 grn arrow. As for cost, here it go's:
Bow-750
Fuse Buckhorn .019 sight-135
Fuse Bisquit- 68
Fuse 6.5 cx hunter stab.- 68
Fuse Satori 6 quiver- 86
Having a great dealer setting it up w/ you- Priceless!

RE: Got my new bow today!
Um, I don't see it. I think there was a problem w/ the chrono or something.....I don't see a Katera shooting 316 fps, on a 27.5" draw, and 435 grain arrows....That's 6.5 grains per pound, on a bow that's rated 330...You would lose 15 fps + w/ the draw, and you're 100 grains OVER 5 gpp......
I know those Hoyt's, and especially the Katera, are awfully good shooters, but ........Maybe there's something wrong w/ the chrono, or the numbers aren't right somewhere....That's almost 100 pounds of KE, on a bow pulling 67......something isn't adding up here....You sure the arrow doesn't weigh 335? I could see it then possibly.....
That set up should be in the 280's....maybe upper 270's....I'm not calling anyone a liar, the chrono said what it said, but it was wrong. The Katera is rated 330 fps. 30" draw, 350 grain arrow. We're looking at a draw of 2.5" shorter, and an 85 grain heavier arrow.......that adds up to a loss more than 14 fps, is all I'm sayin....

RE: Got my new bow today!
Congrats on the Katera, the one I tested was a pleasure to shoot, I just wish that Hoyt would have put more quality into the camo process as it just looked horrible.
I agree with Mobow, there is no way that bow would shoot that speed with those specs. According to my OnTarget software, that set-up should produce 279 f.p.s. with just a nock on the string, add a peep and your looking at around 277 f.p.s. From what I am getting, if you were shooting it at 67 pounds and 27.5" draw length with just a brass nock, you would have to be shooting a 255 grain arrow to get 316 f.p.s.

Okay, but even with a 340 grain arrow, your bow should still only shoot at 299-300 f.p.s.which is still screaming fast! It sounds like the chronograph may need adjusted or it might be broke. Either way, enjoy the bow and post some pics of it layin on some dead critters this fall!

RE: Got my new bow today!
Thanks Buck magnet, we will be chrono ing it this weekend outside. We chrono'd it indoors yesterday. We shot 12 times thru it and ranged from 312-316. I was suprised with the 316. I would be just as elated if it shoots 300 Saturday. I will post them results. It shoots really great for a speed bow!

RE: Got my new bow today!
Just an update. We chrono'd outside this morning at our club shoot and shot 294. This will most likely be more accurate than the indoor chrono and now that I have shot it a few times this week, breaking out the "new" in it! Still love the speed and feel. Everyone that has shot it has liked it so far and suprised just how quiet it is.
