MN/Kyle; Looking for form help.
Kyle asked me to post these pictures for him. I'll let him ask any questions he needs to, etc...

RE: MN/Kyle; Looking for form help.
First off, Thanks a Ton, Dan.
Second; The 10 sec timer really kicked my butt. I'm going to try and get more ASAP. Any input is appreciated, Thanks. |
RE: MN/Kyle; Looking for form help.
I personally. Would shorten the draw length 1/4" to just get a feel for it. I think you are VERY close to great form. Your arm being locked bothers me a little. You want it straight but not locked. The nock seems to be at a good spot on your face, but I would try to get your bow arm right and then see where the nock comes to on your face. Your draw length, looks VERY close. Just fix that bow arm and see where it brings things.
Edit: Can't really tell from the pics but it looks like you are gripping the bow and getting too much of your palm on the grip. |
RE: MN/Kyle; Looking for form help.
You are leaning back slightly but not bad... You could use to drop your bow shoulder.... Your form looks pretty clean....
Yourstraight arm and dl don't bother me. |

I'm going to try and put a slight bend in my bow arm, and hopefully it will bring my shoulder down to the correct place.

My two cents worth, and Kyle and I have discussed it on MSN... I'll throw it out and hopefully TFOX or RJ will chime in...
I think the draw length is basically fine. if anything, I would lengthen it 1/4". I also believe that if he were to bend his arm more, this would drop his shoulder down easier and would bring his release hand slightly forward on his face more. I don't know that he's necessarily leaning back, he may be pushing his hips forward. I had the same problem awhile back. It was more of an alignment issue than a draw length issue. |

RE: MN/Kyle; Looking for form help.
The arm slap might be from the grip. You need to rotate the forearm over as previously mentioned to get less palm in the grip, that along with relaxing and getting the front shoulder down should fix arm slap.
