RE: New to archery... opinion?
I don't think so raxxmaster....They are super sharp, cut on contact and don't burn up NEARLY the KE that an over the top mechanical does. Since the blades open on contact, you are basically shooting a fixed blade head, without the worry of erradic arrow flight.
I will agree that the large cutting diameter creates some surface tension, but not any more than a 4 blade fixed would.....

Mobow is correct for the fact that the Snyper and RM Snyper might be the exception to the rule on mechanicals. The ease and the way the open would work fine.

Raxx, if you use Rage you know how they open, I'm not sure what your setup is but I'm sure the Rage work well. Her setup should put out plenty of KE for Rage or even RM Snypers seeing they are slightly smaller in cutting diameter.

Based on your setup, I would lean towards a fixed (3) blade broadhead 85 - 100 grains. Muzzys or Slick Tricks are two great options... Not much that can go wrong with a fixed blade...

Welcome to HNI and the archery comunity, I would suggest that you shoot beaman arrows and fixed blade arrows. Just starting out the fixed would bea better choice and the beamans are cheaper then others out there. Good luck with your new bow.
