RE: How many actually pick a spot?
Just listen to the voices in your head they never steer you wrong.

RE: How many actually pick a spot?
Since I shoot a recurve instinctively I only hit thespot I look at or else I hit nothing. If I don't pick a small spot I'm just as apt to miss the entire deer.

RE: How many actually pick a spot?
I pick a spot because for me, "if I aim big I miss big"...I aim small and I hit good. I zero in on a spot and fire!

RE: How many actually pick a spot?
Going further into what Arthur said (which I wholeheartedly agree with).....
What do you do after you pick that spot? If you put your pin there, then......you've covered up your spot. If you just put your pin there and shoot......you've accomplished the SAME THING. Now....in saying that.....GregH said something a while back that I also agree with. When that animal's coming in......PRE-pick a spot you think you'r egonna need to stick the deer....and focus on that spot. But when the moment of truth comes......I place my pin where i want my arrow to go.....and the "spot" IS my pin. |
RE: How many actually pick a spot?
That's a little to deep for me Jeff....;)

RE: How many actually pick a spot?
I do, But I also believe it is from my days of shooting a recurve you have to pick a spot when you aim. So now I am always looking for a tuft of hair or something and that is what I aim for.. Walt

RE: How many actually pick a spot?
I have two pins on my site.Top one iswhere I want the arrow to go. The bottom is my "reference pin". I put the bottom pin in the arm pit of the deer. I move to the right and left if needed.
