I didn't know where in the heck to put this, so I figured I'd just put it here...


As a lot of y'all know, I'm studying for the February '08 PA Bar Exam. Everything is going good,but I'm down to the one-month warning. So, I have a favor to ask:

This site has become a major source of my internet-based entertainment, and as such, it has also become a thorn in my side b/c I keep procrastinating and screwing around on here when I should have my face jammed in an evidence book.

So here's what I need: A 30 day ban. Actually, (if we're getting technical) I will be ready to return to the forums on 2/27/08 at 4:30 p.m.

If you can, I want the type of ban where I won't even be able to view the forums orread the threads at all - from either of the 2 I.P. addresses that I usuallyuse to log in(home and work). I want the Pete Rose ban. The Queen Mother of all bans. But only until the end of February...

I've failed the PA bar two times in a row by less than 1.5% each time. That sucks. So, I figure if I can eliminate the procrastinating - even if it's only 20 minutes a day - that will be the difference between me passing and me failing.

Can we do that? Can we block access to the site altogether for aclosed time period? That would really help a brutha out.

I know y'all are asking yourselves:

If I were you, I'd seek Davidmil's advice in this matter.;)I believe he may be able to "guide you" with some pointers that just may indeed land you with a 30 day sentence.:)

I would have no problem banning you from posting, I might even remember to re-instate you... ;)

I cannot keep you from viewing the site, unless I head over there and poke your eyes out and I don't think that would help you with the Bar exam.

Christine- just block me from posting, and I'll block the site on my end (I just figured out how to do that). That way, even if I do manually un-block the site to see what everyone's been up to, I still won't be able to post or PM anyone. Eventually, I'll just get frustrated and go back to studying.

See? I'm procrastinating right now.

Quick dude I feel for you!

I had the exact same issues this past spring when I was finishing my thesis for my masters... I had absolutely ZERO will power! I couldn't work for more than 20 minutes without coming back over here and checking the threads.

Eventually, I had to just move my computer into the kitchen where my wife would scream at me anytime she saw me on huntingnet! Trust me, that will cure you in a hurry.

Do you want me to send her over to your place for the next month, you know, to keep you from procrastinating? I'd be more than willing. Just let me know....;)

This is Fran you are dealing with...

if he does pass, becomes a lawyer and "you" banned him... I wouldn't want to be you. We've seen his tactics!! A speed freak !!Already thinks he is a king in the hunting world!! Will be looking to make a name for himself... Bob the lawyer is already taken !! Scarey stuffand webarelytouched the surface !!

Get one of the other Mods to do it. We can afford to lose onethem. Heck all of them for that matter!! ;):D

Quicksilver, you can be banned from this end, but not stopped from viewing the site. You could still cometo the site, just couldn't log in and post.

The best thing you can do is from your end.If you have Internet Explorer, right click on the explorer icon on your desktop and left click Security. Left click on Sites and it will give you the option to add site to be blocked. Just add http://www.huntingnet.com to the list.

Gather round my children.... First off, remember the "NEW" warning we got a little while ago. The only type of ban available now is a "PERMANAENT" one. Remember??? The explanation was that it was "The NEW software". It wouldn't allow for UNbanning.[&:];) No more 48 hour time outs or breaks or temporary bannings.... only permanent. SO, if they try to give you a 30 day lock out, well SURPRISE.... SURPRISE.... they must have fixed the software.[8D][8D][8D][8D]
