RE: Back off the poundage or build back up?
its true that a bow will shoot better maxed out. I'd get the 60 lb limbs and not plan on working back up to 70lb. the shoulder is a fairly vulnerable joint due to the fact that it is connected to the tors with very little bone/cartilage contact, and a great number of small muscles and ligaments instead. while this offers the chance for better mobility than any other joint, it also means it offers less stability, longer healing times, and greater risk of re-injury. In short, if you've had a surgery for your shoulder already, a high draw weight is a good way to insure you'll need another one in the future. I'm a chiropractor, and can tell you that you'll enjoy hunting just as much at 60 lb, and a whole lot more than with a crossbow.
