I hear what's being said, but who buys something for untold $$ to leave it the same? Faster is Good, More money is Good..at what cost.

How do they feel about Bowtech, or Bowtech Sponsored Mods? What brands ofCamo or other productswould they liked to see pushed??

Do they have other hunting interests? All questions we will have to take a wait and see attitude.

Before the powers rain down on me..I'm open minded..justthinking aloud.

You mean, it's possible we've read the last Predator and Bowtech threads??? Woe is me....

I doubt it. Bowtech is a big advertiser of this site, I can't see that changing. But you're right, we'll have to wait and see. I think though, something as successfull as this site is, I don't forsee any changes.

I'm kissing my own goodbye. LOL

I'm sure there's a change over do nothing drastic period. I would think that since it cost them NOTHING to have mods and all that they'd maintain that level of sameness. It's worked to this point. Our only real problem is that probably down the line Justin et all will go on to bigger and better(or maybe not so tedious) things in life. I must say, it's been fun.

“Nothings going to change.”

Where have I heard that before……Oh yea, 2 months ago when my company was purchased by a large corporation.

In the mean time: healthcare, vacation, work hours, overtime policy, job focus, company structure, and location of employment have all changed. Some more significantly than others.

Things will change…..I just hope not for the bad.

RE: Did ya'll see the new sticky?

Honestly, I don't see there being much change that will affect the average user. There may be changes to advertisers, mods, and some posting policies, but there have been those changes through the years as it was anyway. The folks who may be affected are those that have smaller businesses and use this forum to grow awareness of their product. This site has always been very liberal and supportive of those that are starting new ventures as long as you kept the admins here in the loop. Depending on sponsorship and advertising changes the climate may change. Those with BowTech affiliation may not be allowed to have authoritative roles for example.

All in all it is the members of a forum that make up its quality. This forum has always had quality members, so as long as nothing is done to drive off those quality members, which is unlikely, the site will be fine.

All is well.

Remain calm.

The King, being thetrue gentleman of leisure that he is,will continue to follow whatever outdoor pursuits that shall be availed to him, the fate of this site notwithstanding.Should the day come where his favorite website ceases to exist, be advised that the King's reign shall continue indefinitely, and the monarchy will live on in the hearts and souls of millions.

In response to what has occured..

I really do not see any changes in the future of HNI. There will still be a deer contest, there will still be a forum, there will still be field journals.. ETC. ETC.

The company that bought HNI does not wish to dismantle it.. they wish to profit from it. You cannot profit from a website that just completely falls apart.

Todd and Justin still work as the administrator's of the site. As long as they continue to do so.. that's who's arse you still need to kiss.[8D]

No worries gents.

Duke my young friend, LOL I have seen it to many times now. We just sold one of our company's. I told them six month after the sale they would find out the truth.

Same stuff Todd just said was said. Ask any of them if it's the same as it was;) Hey the change may be better.

Only time will tell, we'll just keep on keepin on like we always do. We've seen changes before and so far, always for the good. HNI has grown drastically since it's conception. Todd told me personally on the phone the other day that he'll be involved as well as Justin and everyone else.

Congratulations Todd, JZ and the HNI Team.

Theres gonna be banner ads everywhere, and then random people joining leaving spam messages, I have not been on this site long at all but one of the things I loved about it was not having to go through for pages of advertisements to get to the forum. Or seeing banners on how I can win X item. Im going to go chek out those forums they own and see what theyre like now.

There will be changes. Even if they say "There will be no changes". That means there will be no changes right this minute. Usually the corporate changes take a while, 6 months to a year, but you can bet there will be changes. HNI was bought because it is successful so I congratulate the people who put it together and make it run, hopefully they will profit. There will be change. That is why I choose not to be part of "Corporate America" anymore. I build Choppers now, I got tired of dealing with the liars and BS artists. I now have a "One Man Corporate Policy" in place here.

BTW: I got that Ill hunt email too.

Did what you mentioned and was surprised I was able to get in pretty quick. I did not have any pop ups show up and the advertisement seemed pretty similar to here. The one thing I did notice between Flyer's site and the bike site was they looked pretty similar as far as lay out was concerned. So maybe our set up may change a little. The only thing I wander if will change is sometimes Mods and Justin when they have had enough of the peoples crap they take care of business. Hope they are still able to take out the trash from time to time and not have other people telling them how to handle the "mood" of the board.

I got that e-mail as well. I assumed it was because I had inquired about hunting there some years back. Now that I think about it, I used a different e-mail address back then. [&:]

If there are changes, I don't think they'll be ones that Todd or Justin knows about. They've taken pretty good care of us over the years, so I doubt they would sell out and let this place go to hell.

HNI_Christine 01-23-2008 01:49 PM

RE: Did ya'll see the new sticky?

I rec'd that outfitter email yesterday and I've rec'd them before so I doubt that has anything to do with the new owners of HNI.

I'll likely continue on as an Admin of the message board so you guys will need to continue pretending to respect me. (all four of you that do)

I think we'll see some changes in advertisers but not much more than that. For now, just relax and enjoy the site. :)
