RE: Whiskerbiscuit...or dropaway?
I've never used a WB, and I have friends that have them and can out shoot me at times on a 3D course. I use a Rip Cord and it works great for me. I used to use the TM Hunter type rest before, and always had clearence issues. Not any more.. Good Luck in your choice

RE: Whiskerbiscuit...or dropaway?
Here isa thought. I know many people like the drop away rests. I'm sure they work great but here is a reason I would thinkabout if it is worth it or not. Take the hostage and a drop away for exapmle. Both make sure there is no contact by the vanes if setup correctly. The big difference is the drop away is a moving mechanism. The Hostage is fixed.
In my experience the more complicated something is the more opertunity for failure. I understand the drop aways and how they work. However, it seems like to me in the right conditions (freezing temps and moister etc) the rests could possibly freeze up or not function properly. I'm sure this has been tested over and over again to ensure it won't happen but you know Murphy. Is there much of a gain from the Hostage style to the drop aways? I'm not trying to start an agrument. I'm no expert on the newwer compounds either. I have shot for many years and have shot alot of different bows. Everything from trad to pretty modern stuff. (No parallel limb stuf yet) I'm realy just trying to learn. So please don't take it otherwise. |
