easier atmosphere to communicate in-

I've visited both over the years, always considered this place "home", and now I rarely even stop in over there. WAY too much attitude there for my liking.

RE: Archery Talk vs HuntingNet?

I hate Archery talk. I got a gut full when I had some punk (which there are a lot over there) talk down on me, accusing me of not having a clue, which he was dead wrong on. This guy was giving advice that would have caused some serious damage to the person asking the question. It was a tiller question. Anyway, the guy didn’t even know what tiller was. He informed me he had been shooting for three years, and was a member of some shooting team, so he knew just what he was talking about. Wow, 3 years vs. my 25+ years. You get a lot of that crap over there. Lot of bashing and holier than thou art attitudes. I simply hate the place. You also have to be careful with the advice you get. I’ve seen lots of misinformation going around there. As compared to this site. I feel we have a much better site. Better info and you don’t have to weed through all the crap.

I still have a contract out on me over there. My name used to be BillJ/AK. I've been in the hunter protection program for 6 years.

My whereabouts are unknown....but rumored to be in NC.

Hint.....it's 8:32PM where I am, right now.

Toodles.

I read/post in both, but AT seems to be at a peak for the holier than though ethics police on hunting questions and god can they whine about equipment and rules for shooters.

This place seems more of a group of friends and less talking to try and prove what you know. More relaxed and friendly here, but both have good info with the appropriate BS filters applied.

I don't know how it is now, but it used to be way more target archery oriented where as this site is more for hunters. I think if I questions about spot shooting or something I would go there, but for hunting stuff this is where you want to be in my opinion.

And this site is not owned by a bow company, I beleive AT is owned by Martin, or it at least some affiliation with it.

I have not been there in a while though.

I does have one quality that mirriors this site, it gets lots of traffic.

The Bowtech vs. Elite threads over there can be downright painful. A lot of brand bashing on that site, but it does have a good classifieds as someone mentioned.

All this talk about the love here has me thinking... aren't some of you guys the same ones I see sparring all the time? I'm kidding, I'm kidding. :D

Yes, I go to AT from time to time too and I don't know how to explain it butthere's just a different atmosphere.

RE: Archery Talk vs HuntingNet?

I'm a member at both forums along with a few others...And I'll admit I spent more time over @ AT...Not surewhy, becasue Ijump back and forth and all over all day long, while I'm atwork...I just usually find myself posting more over there..AndNO I'm not a debating, arguing foollikesome of the members @ AT...And since leagues have started I spent mostmy time talking targets... As far as HN the things I like are, a morerelaxed atmosphere, gear review section & blackpowder section (I just got a new ML:D....Plus its an all round hunting site...Things I dislike..The forum layout is diffrent from all the other sites I visit...I cant tell if I've already posted in a thread without going to my profile...and I cant use my spell check. I know no-one cares but it drives my nutz....

I do have to question though whats with the AT vs HN stuff wasn't there another thread just like this, a week or two ago???

RE: Archery Talk vs HuntingNet?

Im not an experienced hunter and dont know anything about shooting with form and all that, i also have a lot of ? about things. In my honest opinion i think this is a lot better site because all of you have helped me and you stick to the ? i have asked. I do go to AT everyday but i have only recently found this site, a month or so ago, and its mainly for the classifieds ( its awesome) and Mutanville its funny to. But there are a lot less attitude over here, AT has people that think they know everything about everything.
