If you could hunt anywhere....

If you could hunt anywhere in the world, and there were no game on endangered lists, what would be your top three dream hunts. Mine are:

1. Red Stag in New Zealand with my son;
2.Black Bear hunt in the north where they grow em big with my son; and
3. An Elk hunt in the Rocky Mountains (again with my son).

RE: If you could hunt anywhere....

I have more than 3. I think if I could do each once successfully, I'd be happy and feel fulfilled.

In order of priority:

Caribou in AK
Elk wherever I would have a best chance at a good one with OTC tags
Moose in AK
Midwest whitetail hunt - w/ a chance to at least see and hunt in the presence of true B&C caliber bucks.

GMMAT 01-16-2008 05:02 AM

RE: If you could hunt anywhere....

I'd like to hunt a small tract of midwest woods that has no hunting pressure and is teemig with big, mature whitetails.......to see if "those" giant patriarchs of the forest are stealthier than their southern bretheren of the same age..............or if they're harder to hit when they're 20 yds away.

One season........Just so I'd know.

RE: If you could hunt anywhere....

I would team up with an outfitter called “The national center for missing and exploited children” and get me some topo maps and figure out my quarry. I’d use the sex offender registries and such provided by law enforcement as a good scouting tool to start things off.
I think I’d leave the bow at home and bring along a club, a knife and possibly a really mean dog. Maybe a sawed off coach style double barrel 12 gauge too.

Doesn’t really matter where as long as it had good media coverage. I’d want the quarry to have good hunting pressure and know that the game was on. Get’em on the run.

Whoa KP, no one is more adament about child molestors getting their just desserts, but let's leave the prison population to take care of that one. Convict them, send them to prison where they usually don't last too long as they are considered the scum of the earth inside prison too!

Killer_Primate 01-16-2008 09:38 AM

RE: If you could hunt anywhere....

AF,
The problem is; Prison, and its associated prisoners, don’t reform pedophiles. I think it may do some good if they were the ones being victimized, think of all the kids we’d help. Besides, it was my fantasy hunt, right?
You ever heard of a guy named Carl Panzram (sp)? If not, look him up online. I think he’s a fine example of what prison does to “the already sick” part of society. There are no good answers, so why not just get rid of them?
Oh well, have fun!
P.S. I’m going to have to try that chili…
