I love spot lighting deer. It's a activity that many people enjoy, I know I do............... Yes, it is used by poachers but poachers are just that and would do it if illegal too.
Ditto here ...... it is one of the things I do with my bro and nephews all year round ........ awesome time!

I use it to see what's in my general area. I'm not much for leaving trail cams out, and since pretty much any buck worth shooting is all but nocturnal around here, it's my only real chance at knowing what I can expect for the season.

That being said, I am still confined to my same hunting places whether I would see 10 mature bucks or none while spotting.

You guys where it is illegal should be happy. IMO it's a real good blanket for poachers to use to shoot deer.

My son just asked me last night if we could go spot deer and look for sheds. That little 7 yr old
can not wait to be hunting. He wanted blaze orange hunting cloths for christmas but I am waiting
until Feb for his bday then he will be really surprised.

How many use this as a legal tool in your arsenal?
Rob and I spotlighted in PA, this year. So, yes......it was a tool in the arsenal. We saw some good bucks, but I can't for the life of me find the photos.

Its legel here in va if you have written permission from the landowner, and not even thinking about having a weapon.
