RE: Treestand and blind hunting - 36" ATA bows
TFox~~ I have to ask you this, you seem to bash the shorter ata bows? I have seen your videos and you are a good shot, but do you think if you shot a short ata bow that you could not shoot reasonable or should I say "good enough"?
This is for "hunting"... where the concept of shorter bows generally comes in handy IMO! "Target" shooting ... I completely understand the concept of a longer ata bow and all of its advantages! |

This is for "hunting"... where the concept of shorter bows generally comes in handy IMO! "Target" shooting ... I completely understand the concept of a longer ata bow and all of its advantages! I have not told anyone not to shoot the shorter bows,to each their own,I just answered a question as it was asked to me.If the question is asked what bow I recommend, the short bows are never on my list but that isn't bashing. I have a personal friend that I shot every weekend with and he got a 33" bow to hunt with while he was serious about 3-d,now that he isn't as serious and shooting as much,he is looking at longer bows because he just can't shoot it as well as he would like. I know a few pro archers and they are considered the best in the world and you know what they hunt with, the longer more forgiving bows.I found that interesting when the best choose the more forgiving bow. As for me,I work hard to be profficient but not nearly as hard as I used to.I am not naturally a good shot,I have had to learn form which I still have some serious flaws in.I NEED all the help I can get from my equipment so I choose not to go below 36".That is my cutoff and I am seriously considering getting a new bow and the Seven-37,Katera XL and commander are all on the list.Of course if I get the bt,I will have to change my signature.[8D] The Katera XL wouldreally be put through a test before I would decide to buy it. |
RE: Treestand and blind hunting - 36" ATA bows
I have and sort of still do. My old bow was 37-38” I believe and I hunted from a stand with a rail around it without ever having an issue. MY current bow is 35” and again no issues. I’ve shot my longbow from it and run into more issues with the tree trunk than I do with the stand rail while actually shooting. Now just moving around and getting into position I play the drums with my longbow on that rail, but I’m sure with a bit more caution and getting used to it, I would be fine.
