Late Season Maryland Buck
Here's a buck that I killed on 12/28 on public ground in Maryland.
A young doe came in to my stand at about 4:30, and he was following her. I was afraid I wouldn't get a shot because she continued on behind me, and I was concerned sh'e wind me, but I guess she was close enough to the stand that the wind was carrying my scent above her.
He stopped out in front of me about 18 yards away, and waited to see which direction she was going to go, and when he stepped into an opening, my Bear Kodiak Hunter was at full draw seemingly with conscious thought on my part. When my middle finger touched the corner of my mouth, an old Ben Pearson cedar shft was on its way.
He went 40 yards and I was able to watch him go down.
