Default Why not pendulum sights??

I dont shoot them, but my buddy is wanting to put them on his new bow.Advantages are quite obvious. What are the disadvantages of pendulum sight systems?

Inherently noisier due to moving parts.

Never had a problem with one.....ever. I have used them for almost 20 years on and off. Always going back to them.

Ididn't realize they have been around for 20 years. I just figured that everyone would use them if they were so great. Anyone else??

I have used a Keller for years and it gets the job done. It fits what i need for treestand hunting. I don't take shots past about 30 yards anyway so distance is no concern. The noise has never been a problem either. I will continue to use one until i find a reason not to.

Just one more piece to fail in my eyes, and it limits the range frome a tree stand.

Ive been using them for over 15 years and have never had mechanical issue with one. For tree stand hunting they work well for me. I use regular pins for my target bows.
