Anything bigger than what's already on the wall, now over 120.After rifle season ends and archery kicks back in any doe is meat for the freezer.

It all depends how full my freezer is and how close to the end of the season I am ....

Me too. Fawns and 1.5 year olds are off limits but everything else can be a go as for myself filling the freezer is most important. I love to bowhunt so much I hate to see a season end early if I know I have plenty of hunting time. Several years ago I passed up a 140" deer on oct 5, it more than payed off as I was able t hunt for five more weeks before it started to get a little tiring and I harvested a big bodied 2.5 year old.

My standards are 1-2 does per season and hopefully 1-2 bucks per season. As far as the bucks go, it depends on where I'm hunting. Northern Wis. = 3 1/2+, 120+, Southern Wis. = 3 1/2+, 130+ and Northern Ill. I've moved up to 4 1/2+, high 140s+. I like to hunt bucks that are near the top end for their area.

I am doing a lot of thinking on this subject. I used to say 3.5 and up for bucks, but it turns out what I thought was a 3.5 year old is really a 2.5 year old around here. The buck I shot this year was 2.5 and scored right at 150 gross (net would be much less because he had really long double split brow tines). So now I am thinking that if I really went to 3.5 and up only I would get a chance at a shooter about every 3-5 years. I like hunting for hunting's sake, but I have so get something more often than that to keep it fun for me.

In Indiana on my lease, anything over 120" is in trouble.

I shoot does for meat and don't shoot small bucks, even if they have eight points or more. Unfortunately, I'm pretty much the only one in my area that does that.

minimum 1" outside each ear, 8pts or better... but we take mgmt bucks (bad racks and etc.) first, then does, THEN you get your shooter buck... house rules, we stick to 'em as best we can and make anyone that hunts our land follow suit... this coming year we're instituting a 2 doe minimum before a buck can be taken (of course we are on the honor system but there are only a few select folks that hunt our land and we trust them)
