Title says it all. Rob your answer doesn’t count we already know. [8D]:D

You have a mature (4.5+) buck in front of you that would otherwise EASILY meet your personal standards for a “shooter” and then some. He has a busted off side. Do you shoot him? If so, do you mount him?
Nope, I'd let him walk, look for his shed and possibly broken side too. Let him breed and hunt him again the next fall if he made the season and winter.

Not interested in half a rack. The buck walks.

No I wouldn't shoot. Here is a deer that I estimated at 3 1/2 that I let walk during archery season a few years back because his main beam was broke. I wouldn't ahve mounted it so I passed him at 20 yards...

no because the only good out of him is meat and a doe is better for eating so i would safe the tag now if it is last day no kill more then likely

No. There's a good chance he would make until next year he will be bigger.

No, not at all. I'd eat my buck tag first. Plenty of does for meat and enough mature bucks under my belt, I'd pass.
Not in all states. I can only tag two. We eat a minimum of 3 deer a year.

Sorry dude,
I was talking about me personally and the states that I hunt.I really don't care what anyone else does, that's up to them.

BTW, I eat 3 deer/year also.

No problem at all. I understand some states have very liberal doe limits, but others dont. Im in one of those states that dont. Kinda sucks.

When I shot my busted rack buck I was "jacked" because he was old and still looking fora fight. Also, he weighed 300 lbs. It was a great hunt ending with a great warrior deer. Life is good!!!!
