Sometimes we just get lucky- 8pt to end season
I have a non hunting farmer/rancher friend in a neighboring county that asked me back in November to hunt one of his propertiesthat was overrun by deer that he was unable to lease. (This is a true friend 
) He had 15 doe tags and I was allowed one buck.
Well myself, along with some of my friends, worked on the does over the past month and held off on the bucks until the last weekend of the season.
There was a specific spot whereI had seendeer crossing from beddingto a wheat field each evening on a fairly regular basis and decided last weekend to put up a ladder stand in that area.
While ourcountry has trees, those that are big enough to hang any kind of a stand can be few and far between and this was the case in this spot.I begrudgingly had to place the stand about 65 yards from where I thought I wanted it, but this guy comes by broadside for a 14yd chipshot. Thank goodness for dumb luck. He is not huge, but a nice 3 1/2 yr old buck just the same.
