Freedom-- "What kind of headlamps are you guys using?"

Not real sure which one I am using, it is years old. What kind are you using?..I am usually very prepared in the woods, with extra batteries and all but this morning, a 6 year old boy could have beaten me up, and a 4 year old girl could have out thought me. :) I like going in when it is pitch black...I made my way in 2/3rd of a mile this morning only to totally disrupt the thicket I was hunting! Live and learn I guess.

The Everyready model lasts forever on AAA's, they are LED. Had to wear them for work at night and lasted a couple weeks being used for about four hours a night. Always have one in my backpack, especially handy when climbing.

Thank you wallhangr--I will get that for next year...I am tired of the one I use going out and running through batteries. Batteries are comparable to gas as how expensive they are these days!

Since I also volunteer at a fire department I use my rechargable light, made by streamlight. It is available to the general public. Just look them up on line at streamlight.com A charge will last a few hours. more than enough to get into dark woods and out again. I just drop it in the charger when I get home it is ready in about an hour. It is also a halogen light. can see thru the most foul weather. Very bright. I cut the brightness down by placing my hand over the lense. Comes in handy when having to dress a deer after dark.

I keep 2 lights in my day pack, just in case. But I don't use one going in. If a deer hears a twig crack, he wonders what made that noise. If a deersees a light, heKNOWS it's from a human!;)
