Well for starters wear a linemans safety harness. I usually screw in a step and then hang my stand on it and secure it with ratchet straps, removing the screw in step along the way. If you have several hang ons, hang one about chest high, get up on it, hang another etc. until you reach your desired height and remove the other hang-ons. Seems like a lot of work, I usually just set up climbing sticks and place my hang on at the end of that.

What do you mean? Put one foot in front of the other and climb the ladder,or tree steps or just play monkey and get up there.

BTW , tie a rope to it and haul it up once you're safely secured to the tree. Not sure what kind of advice you're looking for?

Hang it on a screw in step first.
