Just go get them........he doesn't need them until the cape is back and he's ready to do the final mounting.
Then just have him give you a call when he's ready and take them back.

;)

RE: Is it rude?

the buck i killed in 2004 had a turn around of 40 days....killed it november 14 and he got it back to my dad on christmas eve so i could get it as a present. he does like 50-70 heads a year, but since i was a youth hunter then he put me at the top of the list. most kids mounts he gets done take less than 2 months lol. if i happen to kill one now, itll probably take a year or better because he is still tryin to catch up.

I killed a 153 this year (my first one for the wall)

I just asked when I dropped it off. He said I can go get them because he doesn't need them untill he mounts it later.

I know what you mean about just wanting to admire the animal. We spend countless hours in the woods in search of an animal like this. And when you get one you have such a short time to admire it before it goes to the butcher (unless you do to yourself)and then taxidermist.

Go get 'em.

All kinda new to me, guys.....but I think I'm just going to leave them there and be pleasantly surprised when I get him back. If I ever shot a really big one (relative;))....I might think differently (like most of you guys deer.....congrats).;)
