I'm not a bowhunter but during ohio gun season November 26th-December 2nd we hunted every afternoon and we never saw anything until about an hour and a half before sun down. We started heading out at 1-1:30 but it was a waste of time so we took a little nap and went back later.

I've gotten in the tree as late as 4:15-4:30 the last couple of weeks and I've seen a good deal of deer. Yes I have bumped a few but since the time change I have to take advantage of every little bit of tree time I can get during the week.

If I am going to hunt, I like to get in 4-5 hours before sundown. I only hunt on a military base and you have to pick up passes, drive to the spot...it is a process. So when I get a chance to hunt, even in the afternoon, I spend 4-5 hours.
