Here in southern wisconsin I seen a monster 10 pointer chasing a doe across a field on land we hunt. This was the second weekend in december I think around 3 pm...There were about 22 other does in the field to.Never seen any second rut activity like that let alone see that during the first rut. Verry cool.

Don't know who I can agree with. The deer in my area have gone nearly completely nocturnal. Leaving beds at about 5:05 pm to go feed. Tough huntin'.

Maybe the bucks finally figured it out. We have to many does, why fight? Why waste our energy chasing? Wait a few minutes another doe will walk by. Get up, get some, lay down, wait, repeat!! LMAO!

It really depends where you are. Up at my Dad's place in Northern Mn he hasn't seen anything to resemble any sort of rut activity. He figures there done again until January when some of the doe fawns come in to heat. Last night my buddy shot a doe fawn, we found a few scrapes opened up and he also said he's been watching a couple different 6 pointers chasing doe's the last week or so. They should quit anytime now but then again these little bucks will chase even if the doe's are not in heat!

My dad stays bout two hours north of Wadena on the Red Lake Res. and they've shed there. My great uncle who was up there said he hasn't seen em shed this early up there in quite a few years.
But I dunno, I'm a city boy [:'(]
