RE: selecting a Stabalizer?
ORIGINAL: Schultzy Is there still a law on max length of these stabilizers or not? Its been many years since I shot compound. |
RE: selecting a Stabalizer?
No law on length for hunting either?
|
RE: selecting a Stabalizer?
I have not read anything like that in SC's regulations but I would not think there would be a law about that type of thing. I could be wrong though, its happened once or twice before:D.

RE: selecting a Stabalizer?
I shoot 3D with the exact same setup I hunt with (I did, last year). SO.....the stabilizer is as much for that as anything else. Plus....even at 10".....it has never been an issue in a tree. Not even close.

RE: selecting a Stabalizer?
My set up looks very similar to Robs. Sureloc and Superstick. In the tree it has never been a problem. I do hunt out of a Doghouse TSC (68" base), that is where it is a bit tricky sometimes.

RE: selecting a Stabalizer?
i had the doiker but didnt like it as much as my 7 dollar walmart stalbilizer
but i really want to get one that is at least 7 inches and heavier |
RE: selecting a Stabalizer?
I agree with rybo as far as hunting goes but as a long time 3D etc shooter I still prefer the feel and looks of one plus I love to lean my bow up against things like I have it leaning against the stair railings in the second picture. Rarely if ever will I lay my bow down. I like the looks of a longer stabilizer too. Example, BigJ's looks odd to me only because of my long history with lengthy stabilizers.[8D]

RE: selecting a Stabalizer?
the longer and heavier the stabilizer, the steadier you will be able to hold the bow(to a point). I look at it from a form standpoint, as well as a shock reduction standpoint.
