I agree with Cougarmag, that would be such a waste of a nicebuck.......unless you find the sheds and JB weld 'em[&:]. Also, field dressing does with softball sized fetuses in them is a little disturbing to me. But..... it IS for population control after all.

Yes they are quite hungry, we again are going to have above average snowfall and temps are bitter. Last winter we had a 40% die off of our deer herd due to the amount of snow as well as wolf/yote population explosion. Its hard for these critters to dig 3 feet down for grub as well as move through the snow when a pack of yotes can stay ontop of the crust. Wehave sold all our cattle now except for 2 butcher steers we still have at home so there are not many other animals around. The deer seem quite comfortable in the yard coming in at all times of the day and often not even lifting a head when you walk outside. We have been feeding them since last week in November once the big snow hit. No i do not hunt these deer they are my pets. Other people have tried though, have one guy who drove by te yard 5 times a day the last week of deer season. Can't stop them on a public road but the nerve of some people trying to shoot that close to the yard. Hopefully i can pick up a few more sheds but more importantly all the deer survive the winter which is my intentions. We did have some elk in last week while i was in college picking at the second cut alfalfa round bales but Dad took all the bales and not piled them in the empty corral where the elk cannot get at them. Last night when i came home from a hockey game i saw a pretty good buck in the headlights scamper back by the fuel tanks but not sure if he will show himself in the daylight.
