Authorities: Teen killed by arrow appears to be accident

Associated Press - December 12, 2007 2:34 PM ET
CHESTERFIELD, Ill. (AP) - Illinois State Police say the case of a teenager who was killed after being struck by a hunting arrow at his Macoupin (muh-KOO'-pin) County home appears to be an accident.
Police say 17-year-old Trevor Farmer died Tuesday night at a Carlinville hospital, not long after being injured at his home near Chesterfield.
Investigators say that while a 20-year-old man at the home was examining the bow and arrow, he partially drew back the bow. The arrow released and hit Farmer in the chest.
Police say there were other family members inside the home at the time.
The investigation's findings will be turned over to prosecutors.
Chesterfield is about 60 miles northeast of St. Louis.

Default RE: Illinois accident

What a horrible waste of life..............I've often wondered if getting through childhood involves more luck then we realize. I think back on some of the absolute IDIOTIC things I did as a kid that could easily have hurt or killed me and others and wonder how or why some people get caught in that trap that so many of us escaped growing up. Not sure if we are all lucky or they are unlucky........but it sucks either way.
