How cool is your boss?
Just got done visiting with my boss (Principal) here at school and was telling him about my cousin, (Trouthunter) coming up today from out of state to bowhunt whitetails with me. Anyway, boss says "hey I can cover your last class today, so you can meet him early!"
Now thats a cool boss! how about your bosses guys, do they give ya some hunting perks at times??? |

My bosses are pretty cool, but the whole company is pretty liberal and I don't thinkout of 100 employees we have another hunter here. They are flexible about time off and stuff though.......as long as I'm still hitting my sales numbers.

As long as my projects are running smoothly.....I just let my administrative assistant know if I'm going to be away from the office. My boss has no interest in knowing.
I just emailed her (Admin. Asst.)an hour ago......letting her know I wouldn't be here, tomorrow. |

I rarely see my boss. Maybe once or twice a week.. I haven't tested my limits yet though, since I just started. Next season though... we'll see what happens. |

I always think Ishould bea cool bossand give myself time off to hunt....;)
Too bad were are always busy during hunting season to take gobs of time off....harvest and hunting sometimes doesn't always mix. |

Mine are pretty good considering they are my Dad and Uncle... Beginning of Nov. when the rut was really kickin in my buddy sent me a pic on a Tuesday morning of a buck he got. I showed my Uncle and he asked me why I was at work.... He told me I could have the rest of the day off as long as I was in a treestand.... :D

Mine gave me an extra week off work and paid for me to go to the Campbell Outdoor Challenge. I'd say he's a pretty cool guy. :D

My boss is pretty cool. I can come and go as I please, when I please...as long as I get my work done and give them about 40 hours a week.

There is no leeway at my work. We have a schedule to run 365 days a year/ 24 hours a day. You have to take pre-approved leave and there are no "flex" hours. The big boss at my place is a man with integrity, but is old school, so there are not many pats on the back. Many people leave because it can beat you down, but those that stay I believe are rewarded.

My boss is very cool about hunting, and she hunts herself with her family. She totally understands why i never take off until hunting season, and then i take all of my time off spread out in 3 months.

This was my 1st season with this company. I didn’t know how far to push the limits. I was able to get out an extra ½ hr early one day a week thru archery season. And was able to take an extra day off during the rut (at my own expense). But we at least had a pretty good flex schedule so that helped me to still be able to hunt every day, even if in lesser locations.
I’m already stressed out over next season since our company was just bought and the new owners are MUCH less forgiving regarding flex hours and stuff. At least that’s how the policy reads. And I’m moving to a worse location to allow me time after work each day. But, there are unlimited sick days. |

My x-boss was pretty cool until I fired myself.
My current boss is not all that bad either. I'm typing this while being in front of the PC has nothing to do with my job afterall. |

I'm my own boss. I shoulduse this to an advantage but its hard to get away when your working 7 days a week 365 days a year!

Mine's pretty cool too. As long as I get my work done he doesn't mind if I slide out of work early once or twice a week. Of course there are other times when I have to go out to "the field" and I stop by "the field" for a few mintues and then hall ass to "the tree"!!!! :D

My boss is the greatest!! The coolest dude you ever want to meet. He gives me all the time off I want, lets me cut out early and doesn't mind if I hang out here all day, as long as I get my work done.
He'll give me a raise any time I ask and lets me have a car, company credit card the works!!! He's a big hansom dude too:D kinda gruff at times and he puts way too may hours in (70-80 per week) but he is as cool as a boss can get. He gets to sleep with his secretary and never has to worry about a sexual harassment suit.;) He's a hunter too!! Sigh..........great guy.:D |

Mine is very good. I take the entire month of Nov off plus the last few days of Oct, with no special permission which is supposed to be required. I've been doing this for so long that I just write it in our vacation book and go! Usually around Sept each year he just asks me when are you taking off....... like it's a given!;)

My boss lets me work nights during hunting season so i can hunt all day and come in and get my work done when it gets dark.

Most of the bosses I've had are bow hunters. That's great, until you consider that we are battling for the same vacation days (peak rut). And since he's the boss, he usually wins.
Out of 150 salary people at my plant, I can name at least 30 that bowhunt. It makes for great water cooler conversations, but at the same time you've got alot of people who want the same vacation days, and somebody gets screwed every year. |

I have a great boss. He's an avid hunter, especially when it comes to spring turkey hunting. If I walk in a little late because I was on a bird, he understands. I also can usually just say the word and I can cut out early to hit a stand.
I do my job however, I work hard for him and do my job over what is required otherwise it could go different. I've been there coming up on 18 years. He's the reason I have the job. I'm in debt to him. |

My boss sucks!! He is 78 years old. His memory is really slipping.Too old to be running the company. There are 3 of us that pretty much run it for him. Until he comes in his usual 2 hours a day and decides to screw everything up.[:@]
The thing is he can't trust his 2 sons to take over the place. The oldest is an alcholic. Been in rehab about 10 times in the last 2 years. [:'(] The youngest, if you look up IDIOT in the dictionary, his picture is right there.:eek: Anybody hiring?:) They do pay pretty good and 3 weeks of vacation is hard to give up. Those are the only reasons I am still there. |
