Default non applicable question

I'm not real sure where to post this but people look at this forum so here goes...What's up with the search feature? I try to "search this forum" and always get the same message "the system could not find any record." no matter what I search for! On the other hand if I don't "log in" I can search from the huntingnet.com home page and get all the answers I want, is this a glitch or is it me? TIA

I've wondered the same thing! I've typed in the word "deer", hit search and came up bust! Go figure!

I hate asking questions that have been "asked and answered", some people get real irritatedwhen you do that

It works sometimes, sometimes it doesn't. Depends on the day and they've worked on it. The best place to do a search is at the bottom of the page on the right side.

I was hoping I wasn't the only one with problems with the search.

I will usually keep tinkering with the search until I give up, or something shows up:

I will first try to change the search term to "subject or body"
then: combine topics and replies
then: change the search within...
then: just search a particular forum (i.e. bowhunting..)

If that doesn't work, I scratch my head, and say darnitt!

The search feature here is awkward and best, and ineffective most of the time for me. Not to bash or criticize because this site is incredible. But the search feature is the weakest link IMO.

many boards use this same format/forum script, each and every one of them has a horrible search function... its not the site, the forum script, and there simply isn't a whole helluva lot they can do about it unless they upgrade the entire forum area to a different script/format...

It hasn't worked for me inmonths and even when it did it only would work if I searched back to 6 months. Anything past that and it would come up with nothing. I used to use the search function all the time, it's a great tool but Noooooooooo, not any more because now it doesn't work AT ALL!!.[:@]

Somebody PLEASE FIX IT!

P.S. I wouldn't have to post here if someone would reply to my posts in the Technical Help forum.
