Archery buck after all
Well, I didn't think my shoulder would be up to snuff for hunting this year after surgery last winter. I still couldn't handle my target bow, even at 40 lb,as recently asAugust. So I couldn't sign up for the bowhunting contest this year (nor was I able to join in Rick James' league last winter, but watch out this year). I actually spent the first couple of months hunting with a rifle and got a moose and a mule deer.
But by the end of September, I could draw and hold my hunting rig at 60 lb without difficulty, got all practiced up, and got my broadheads prepared. After numerous days of bowhunting and several near-opportunities, this guy finally gave me the chance I needed on Dec 4. The shot was 30 yards, double lung complete passthrough, and he went less than 100 yards.
