Congrats!
Be careful you don't get bit by the Yote bug.
I killed my first yote when I was 12, but never thought much of it back then as I was with my granddad who hunted and trapped bunches of them over his lifetime. We skinned him, stretched him, then Granddad took him to market and gave me the money for the hide. It never sunk in back then as a "sport", but more of a way to get thru the winter and muddy spring as income to subsidize a loggers family.
Recently my brother got into calling yotes, and I went out with him just once to see what all the hub-ub was about. I got excited just watching him 86 a yote from a good distance with his Rem 223, and now am looking to buy a TC Encore 22-250 and get into it myself. It will be a good addition to horn hunting this early spring

I got bit this last season when I called one in while bowhunting, made a 25 yard kill on a great blonde! He is getting a full body mount! Its VERY addicting, be careful!

RE: First ever coyote
Congratulations!!
I've been wanting a yote for a long time now; I think they make absolutey beautiful mounts.
I finally got my first shot off at one this year, but tickeda branch just enough to deflect the arrow out of harm's way for the coyote. I really wanted him, because he was massive... big enough that I did a double-take on him when I first spotted him to make sure he wasn't someone's German Shepherd coming through the woods!

RE: First ever coyote
Just wanted to say thanks for all the kind words, I really appreciate them.
I have to tell you it wasreally exciting taking that coyote yesterday.I'm now hoping I can maybe take one in our late archery season with my bow. That would be icing on the cake, but I don't want to be greedy. [8D]
Anyways, again thanks for all the congrat's.
