It's pointless. If anyone says it works......they're either in the pocket of scent-lok.....or a quack.

OK.....whatever you say. If God told you it worked you'd swear he was wearing Robinson. Oh....I forgot....no scientific evidence. Who's God?

Lub....

I followed the mfr.'s instructions. I went to the woods. I killed deer.

How did it not "work"?
Youworked....cant say for sure if it was the clothing and cant say it wasnt.Too many variables and no way to prove it without a time machine [&:]

Im not willing to plunk down money on something thats a gimmick. Ifit could be shown scientifically that it worked, it would be a different story.

Atlas...If you're implying I said either of these things....you're barking up the wrong tree. I've hunted with a gun my whole life.......just not for deer. I never made any claims like you cite.
Something about flossing cat teeth comes to mind............as well as a 8-10 page argument when buck magnet said bow kills were easier.

You're mistaking "Correllation" with "causation". You're also implying I'm doing the same.
You said you were wearing scent lok when you killed your bucks......."dispell that"............well I was wearing the same sweatshirt when I killed mine........"dispell that" What you are implying is that one had something to do with the other.........if that were true I should be able to make the same claims about my sweatshirt that you do about your garments of choice.

What I want to see is....YOUR list of credentials against the sceintist who says it works. One of you is a Bozo....and is up to his eyeballs into being full of ****.
One of us is getting paid to say what we said..........your complete ignorance of science keeps you from understanding anything else I would say so no sense wasting bandwidth.

I "say" my sweatshirt works.............many people have "said" that cardeer necklaces work.

Take a gun or a bow on any given day of deer season. Which is easier to kill a deer with? Now you don't need to be a freakin scientist to know the answer to this one.

So when your credentials are called into question....I am suddenly inflicted with a "complete ignorance of science".

I don't know that this has an answer and if it does it's not an easy answer. Which is harder to shoot??

Many people on here can and haveRobinhood an arrow at normal distances of what 20 -40 yards? Many of us, can so routinely do it, we instruct each other not to shoot at the same dot!

How many can shoot a bullet exactly through the previous bullet hole at the normal distance of what 100 yards with a rifle..How about "Off-Hand" ?? ;) Not Many! NOT Many!!

Did you read "disparaging"??? That's weird because I never wrote it. I said "lame or easy"........you have voiced the opinion MANY times in the past (as have others, no big deal) that they view gun kills with less admiration then bow kills..........it seems odd to me that you can have this opinion having NEVER done one and just started doing the other. You also said you are amazed at those who voice an opinion about scent lok even though they don't use it and others who do like it...........sounds like the same thing to me. How can you be amazed by something.............yet be guilty of doing it yourself.

NOBODY owning the stuff is complaining
Actually I think the people that brought the suit all owned the suits. I owned the liner and didn't feel it aided my hunting. Good ole Baking soda works and you can reactivate by resoaking your clothes in it.

The liner actually was a pain in the early season because it made me sweat more.

Funny how "pro's" wearing this stufff constantly freak when a deer/elk gets down wind of them and winds them on film.

Yes. I view gun kills with less admiration than bow kills. I'm not ashamed of that opinion. I've gun hunted my whole life. I never touched a bow until I was 40 yrs old. I took two turkeys with a shotgun during the late 90's. I took one with my bow, this past Spring. NO COMPARISON in my eyes.....but that's just my opinion (again....that I'm not ashamed of).

I believe he was comparing gun kills during gun season with bow kills during bow season.

And good scores will countinue to be shot with both balls.. The point is who cares....The same as Who cares what camo you wear. If it works for you or makes you fell like you have an edge. Than it's worth it's weight!

If you smart enough not to be "duped" than good for you..you can laugh at us that buy it. Why would you care what I wear!

By now everyone has chosen a side..argue now or argue next month..it's the same thing Atlas says it doesn't work. Jeff feels any benefit is worth it because besides the scentlok feature..it's damn fine camo..

And then there are all the rest who chime in ...who cares..???

I'll change no one's opinion, but just for fun...

========================================

It does to some degree depend upon what you mean by "worked."

Try this:

Take some ammonia and put it in a film container. Cover it with ordinary cotton cloth and take a big wiff.

Next cover it with a piece of carbon-laced material and do the same...and then tell me there is zero difference.

I do not think that you can "eliminate" all human scent with a garment of any type, period. But I do think that human scent is like a radio playing in the woods. You cannot turn it off, but you can most certainly turn it down.

Even if all this arguement is entertaining to read, is it really worth it to argue how somebody else hunts? scent-lock or not, bow or gun, do what YOU are confident with and what works for you. After all anything that helps you be more confident in yourself and your equipment helps and works IMHO.

Sorry mobo.............I NEVER said SL paid to falsify results. Only that Intertek Testing facilities had been fined for doing it.

It is public record and a google search will show many results........here is one.

I don't think you are a fool Dan............however, it is not opinion, it is scientific fact that the garments absolutely cannot work the way they are advertised to work. It is only a matter of time before that truth comes out. There has NEVER been even one sliver of proof that carbon clothes can help you fool a deer's nose..........just anecdotal stories about people saying they saw a deer downwind.......or more deer.........no better or worse then grandpa standing against the tree in greasy clothes and shooting deer.

What really amazes me about this subject is that people believe it is a matter of opinion............science, and chemistry especially have no room for opinions. It is black and white or right and wrong.......simple as that.

Saying putting on a carbon suit will help you fool a deer's nose is about the same as saying killing a deer is as simple as pointing and shooting...........There's so much more to it then that ;)
Atlas:

I don't really remember from past SL threads you have contributed to, but do you have proof that SL can not work in any way to reduce the chances of a deer smelling you, or do you simply believe that it does not work as advertised. There is a big difference between these two, and I guess I don't remember you stating exactly which side of these two you are on. Help us to understand your perspective a bit better.
