The following is certainly not "prOOf", but it does show that Intertek has a history ofquestionable practices.

To be fair, all individuals were acquitted of criminal charges, but the corporation was fined $9M, which implies guilt or negligence of some type.

what about the research on activated carbon and its reactivation temperature? are these 1000s of scientists wrong? it is fact, but because you havent been busted by a deer, they are wrong? :eek:

have faith in your SL, what i have worn is comfortable and well made. itll keep me warm and conceal me, but it wont capture any more scent than a similar garment without carbon.


why is it that people who dont believe in it are wrong, when just as many scientists, no correct that 100s more, believe that carbon cannot be reactivated at the low temperatures of house hold dryers. i wont venture to say it is a proven fact,because im not qualified to say so.

it doesnt matter anyway, those who want to buy it will, and those who dont wont. i have and probably will again, but i do NOT buy into the crap about it being able to be reactivated.

actually that's one thing i've already agreed to do (earlier in this thread), if they can prove that it works as they claim then i'll probably own some... i like the concept, but have reservations about the claims they make... i'm open minded about it, if they can get the conclusive proof to beat the suit, i'll buy in...

Im just looking at it from a realistic point of view. If something is designed to adsorb scent, wouldnt it be adsorbing every scent the moment it touches air? Therefore, one could logically assume that this item would be saturated damn near instantly in any environment with the exception of space.

its good camo and i own some, so i guess im not against it; i just dont understand how someone can overlook the evidence for the reactivation temperature of carbon.

just dont base the proof that it works to deer not being busted, or killing deer while wearing a garment. Success can not be attributed to a clothings ability to trap scent. you killed your two bucks because you are a proficient hunter,from what you type on here, youhunted smart, and were in the right area at the right time. Not because you wore a certain jacket.


im out,i think :D,come on turkey season! after all, they dont have noses. you are a good guy, anyone can tell that, so whats the point of arguing about the effectiveness of a piece of camo with you.

I'll say it again, Don't buy the stuff. I'll get it at a more reasonable price then. If it wasn't that I don't wish hard times on anyone, I could care less how the thing turns out. Scent lok has never tried to make friends, just get whatever they could. The compitition does the same. It's all pathetic.

Hind sight is 20 20. I could have predicted this thread if I would have thought it through. One of the first threads on this subject was before opening day ie people were in the mood to buy stuff. Now it's just before christmas, people in the mood again. Funny that

I'll quote myself this time... why does it matter what one person believes and what one doesn't? If it works for you, good, use it with confidence. If it doesn't, good, don't spend your money on it. It's simple as that, not worth getting heated over it, at least not till after the season ends, then of course we need some entertainment.:)

I'm actually looking at this both ways, because to be honest I can't prove one way or the other. I keep hearing atlasman say it can't work, and the lab saying it can, and does. I know atlasman has a career of experience and schooling behind him, so he's certainly no idiot. Do I think he has the knowledge to speak about this? Yes. That being said, I don't know didly squat about it. If someone can show me that SL paid off the lab to falsify the results, I'm out. Period. When this suit is over, if same is proven, I'm out. Do I know that marketing plays a HUGE roll in advertising?? ABSOLUTELY. There's not a single product out there that doesn't use marketing strategy to make it seem like you can't succeed if you're not using their product.

Ok, anyway, to further my education here.....Honest question.

Is regeneration and reactivation the same thing? If not, what's the difference?

And atlas, just for clarification....You're not saying that a pristine piece of SL, never exposed to air, can not adsorb odor, corrrect? You're saying it cannot be made "clean" by your average household dryer.....

I normally would stay out of such a thread... fear I guess. But this thread has gone on far too long to ignore anymore. It is very clear that many on here do not understand what is actually going on with the scent lok trial.. it is also clear that many don't even know who's sueing who?

For the heated debatees... I do wear scent-lok and enjoy a rigorous routine of scent eliminating products. Do I believe they eliminate 100% of my scent.. No.. I do not. I was not, nor have ever been, COMPLETELY nieve! But I do believe in increasing my odds in the woods each and every time I go into them. If Scent Lok increases my odds of killing a whitetail from 250-1 to 249-1... I'll GLADLY take those odds... Thank You.

About the trial.. it is sad really. Five Minnesota no-name hunters are the ones filing the suit. If it stands they will stand to make MUCH MUCH money. It is that reason and that reason alone I implore you to reconsider your stance on being "happy" a company is ever being sued. They are claiming the product does not work.. as they have NO BIG BUCKS to claim. They believe the product did not work 100% effectively.. they are sueing the advertising of Scent Lok really.. and nothing more. They even complain of conspiracy.. like Scent Lok took out Kennedy or something. The 5 hunters actually claim BPS, Gander, Cabelas and several others are ALL in it together!

It doesn't take a smart person to read through the countless pages of the lawsuit and realize what these 5 hunters are after. Now.. believe what you will on the subject of scent control and hunting. But if you are not using some sort of scent eliminating product you will never realize your potential as a hunter. period.
