Default First Bow Kill

I am going to start this by thanking everyone that has helped me here on hunting.net and of course my family for putting up with the many hours of shotting the last few years and the years to come. These are my first and second bow kill stories. I started my hunt last sunday dec 2 2007 at 630 at 645 it began to rain. The temp was 63 an unusual temp for Ks. I got back to our friends house on the property to change out of my cloths. He drove me back to the stand 30 minutes later after it stopped raining. this point temp 60 back on the stand and ready to hunt at 715 at 745 a 7 point started to make its way toward my stand. I stood up and positioned my self for a shot when he got to 30 yards. Drew back half way and he looked up at me. I stopped and a few moments later he began to eat on the grass around my stand. He was at 30 yards at this point I was shaking so bad I new I could not make the shot. So I waited for him to get closer so at this point he was at 7 yards from my deer stand. I was only 6 feet up in the tree. After that it was all over placed a precise shoot on him and he went down within 40 yards in sight. I am know a firm believer in what many people already believe in as a wonderful broadhead(rage). This is not a trophy in many peoples eyes so for you who dont think it is a trophy I really dont care. It was my first bow kill after seeing many deer and unable to get a shot at one with a bow. I could have used a rifle but was more interested on getting a deer with my bow so I left the rifle at home. Later that after noon I had a doe walk in at 40 yards I have spent many hours of shoting my bow at 50 yards and drew back my bow I had made my first bow kill that morning so the shakes were gone. was I still excited? of course. I took my second bow deer that afternoon at 40 yards with a rage broadhead and made another great shoot. I also have always believed in sent control I dont not think that if I would have not been such a big finatic about sent control I could not have gotten only 7 yards and 6 feet up in a tree from a deer and he never new I was there. The one at 40 yards never even knew I had shot she didnt even flench she went down with in 50 yards.I am sorry about this bein so long but even almost a week later I still cant sleep for living this moment over and over again in my head. the buck weighed 172lbs. I am know awaiting the rut in nw florida. My father shot a deer with is rifle a 134 class 8 point he, has me was more impressed with the little 7 point that any big kansas deer makes look little but a trophy im my eyes and for everyone that has had a similar experience I know will feel the same about there first bow kill so to all of you bowhunters out there congrats on yalls first kill wether it was a doe a button buck a spike or anything that we would call a deer I am impressed with your kill as well. And by the way thw wind was blowing from my back straight to the deer.

That's Great! Congrats, I would like to see a pic of your trophy. Any deer taken with a bow is a trophy in my eyes. Way to go!
