This is the second year in a row I have taken the largest racked buck that I've "seen" (gamecam and sightings) from my woods......in my second full year hunting.
dont let it go to your head, no offence intended of course.

As for me, the hunting ended up as it should have after I put in the effort (the positive)but I never was able to truly relax when I went out. Too many things going on in my life I guess. I helped my brother get his first deer with a bow, so that was definately the highest point!

1. Disciplined myself to stay in the stand longer
2. Passed up deer in years past would have been in the freezer
3. Got my wife involved in bowhunting

My point of emphasis was learning to play the wind and try to pattern the deer better. Another thing was actually staying on stand as long as i could. Being 18 years old and all ive got a lot of energy to be used up and sitting on those5-6 hr sits really tests my patience! All in all i didnt do anything this year that i could possibly regret or look back on and think that i could have done differently. I learned more this year that i did in all seasons past put together thats for darn sure! Basically i just enjoyed myself during my time on stand and thats what this great sport is all about!!

I took the wife hunting.
I shot a deer I would have let walk because he was hurt.
I enjoyed every minute in the woods.

I let those 120 something bucks walk and killed a 142 6/8 buck.

Patience paid off.

I rattled in two mature deer and was able to kill one of them.

next season the goals are kill a mature buck larger or older than the one I got this year and quit getting picked off by mature and savvy does.

Took care of all the little things prior to the hunt so I could focus on the hunt itself. Packed my things so I knew how to access everything quietly and efficiently. Did not stress out when things were not going my way early. Didn't see a racked but for nearly a month, then arrowed two bucks in a 12 day period(the only two I have seen all year).
