After season started, I should have practiced shooting my bow regularly. I may have been a little more confident with my shots and not missed that wall hanger from 23 yards. I was shaking pretty bad though, so If I could I would change that but keep the adrenaline pumping excitement.

Too much thinking...

I ignored my gut instinct on several occasions this year. Which I usually never do. It cost me more than one mature buck this season.

I've always been a very instinctive hunter, this season I just ignored it and thought too much..[:@]

And the day I did 100% of what my instinct said... a big 8 went down!

I didn't trim enough limbs out of my tree. It cost me a shot at a nice 10 point.

They're gone now.

I didn't scout enough. I never have enough time pre season to get into the woods. Now that I think about it, it's post season when I should be in the woods.
The second thing is hard to do. Finding the tree with cover after the leaves fall. I look for a group oftrees in a triangular shape , but never seem to find them. Pines are hard to come by in the hardwoods that I hunt. Maybe it's better to be hidden than be "in the spot'' off the trail.

Get packing if you are going to on the road in the AM.

I didn't get to hunt this year; the only mistake I can really think of that I did this year I rode our Harley up to see TeeJay and I forgot that he was bald and I severely burnt my eyes from the reflection of the sun off of his dome.
My mistake this year; NO PROTECTIVE EYEWEAR.

i missed the biggest deer of my life at 20 yards, my mistake was being in a hurry rather then taking my time and using the correct pin...
