You can in Oklahoma, it is a common practice, and it is not looked down upon.
That's right, we have mutiple feeders out from late August thru early winter. Most everbody I know uses feeders on their land also, but it's not like we're shooting them with their head in a corn pile, there mostly used to draw them to a specific area and get trail pictures, then we huntwhere their coming or going from.

Quite simply.....NC allows it because we have too many deer.

All has to do with population density.

NO! Thank God.

I think it is really more prevalent in the south.
There is an entire Generation of hunters here MI who could not hunt without it.

Guys will put out
PB
Pumkins
Corn
Beats
Pie
Snickers

Anything they think will bring a deer in. I have seen bait piles that could feed a village in Africa:D

What I am amazed at is how some are against it when deer hunting, but when it comes to bear hunting it is "Accepted" practice.

I can tell you, it's way harder to shoot a deer over bait pile, then on a trail. Just what I think, but a old doe coming to bait pile, looks like a 8 year old a Micheal Jackson Party, it's targeted and knows it;)

I know I just find it funny. I accept both pratices. Yes I have killed a deer over a bait pile. She was eating an apple as I recall;)
