As many have stated hunt the food sources. Here just off picked corn fields can be great, and you never know when you may get into a flurry of rut activity. I've killed a couple of nice bucks in Dec. when they were after a yearling Doe

Just wondering now that the rut is over, What do I hunt now?
You hunt deer as long as they are still in season in your area. Did you get one? If not...you hunt very thick cover and food sources to get a shot at one. Thats all they are interested in now.

I have seen some of the biggest deer this time of year. They are tending does, the rut is not over yet. Find a hot doe and look out, being they are few and far between the big dogs will be out.

I am hunting the wheat field every hunt, from here on in.

After having to deal with the hunting pressure and then shotgunners running them crazy around the woods, they are wary, nervous and on edge. If thats all you have to hunt... well I would move your stand if you had too and hunt along the edge of the field where there is cover for them to get into quickly from the bean field.

we're going this Saturday with Bow and i'm getting on that same spot i saw those two little bucks maybeI can see something bigger? but yea its not like there is a massive amount of food where i'm setup at but there are alot of acorn trees because that day they were eating whileI was there thenI kinda scared them but they didnt go pretty far, So should I still use my doe can? even though the second rut hasent kicked yet? I just found that out by other hunters in my area, Where im hunting at its mostly mountains and trees, there is no food plot or feeder or anything because its part National forest and Private property,
