Whats the most useless hunting
Item you have purchased. If you guys are at all like me every year I see something that "might" help out.
This year I bought a "Butt Out" as a joke for card night and used it. Don't know how I got along with just a knife for all this time. Anyone???  |

I'll tell ya one item that I was wishy washy on and now love..My tree Umbrella. It saved the day on Monday.

I have a cough silencer that I bought in '05 when I first started deer hunting.

The worst item I have bought was the can I hate it and dont think it is worth the plastic it is made with (my opinion) The best thing I ever bought was the stand hanging set ( it is a drill bit that goes in a cordless drill and then you put bolts in the tree I can hang a stand in less than 10 min)

GMMAT..lol I bought one for Dad when they first came out..I think he had No. 00000000000004 too.. he tried it out with several mucusy bursts and didn't like it. He took it back!

I didn't use it on myself Bob.. Anyway card night is like Vegas or deer camp. What happens there stays there. My butt is fully intact.
 I would like to try the cordless drill attachment (on a tree) cause I hate screwing in steps.. Have not tried the cough supressor/booger catcher yet.. |

Which believe it or not may be a good idea..but dang they need to make this thing more manageable. The goose neck is like 3 feet long. |

25 years ago, I got some Satelite Aeroheads. I had my Catquiver full of arrows with those things on 'em. Didn't have the quiver together right. The bottom part fell off and all my arrows hit the ground. Spent the next 15 minutes picking up loose blades off the ground and reassembling the heads. Then I picked a dead mesquite tree and shot every one of those broadheads into it. Unscrewed my arrows off those heads and drove back home.
Ever since, I've been mighty careful not to buy any more garbage. But I do get a good laugh when walking around the store looking at the stuff and wondering what doofus is going to wind up buying it. :D |

This year I bought one of those CSI style flash lights, you know the ones that show blood at night. I would probly work if there was no dew on the ground, it reflects all moisture. Oh well the kids got a new flash light.

Buck/doe pee. Might as well take your money and bury it. Buy something to pour out on the ground.....That's interesting... I posted this up a couple months ago. I don't remember exactly what the name of it is, but it's actually a deer repellant...their marketing strategy is this... Leave a 30 yard circle, with your stand being the center of that circle, free of this stuff. Then form an X off of that. They say the deer will hit one line of the X, be repelled back where they came from, hit another line of the X, bounce back to the first one.....and just like a magical ping pong ball be right in front of your stand, in range.....wow. I swear I'm not making that up either. |

I fess up to buying one of those cough silencers. I had a bad cold right before 3 days of hunting
and was trying to do something. I felt like an idiot coughing in to that nasty thing for a couple days. I'm thinking that a slightly used cough silencer on Ebay would be a hot ticket. ;) I bought a buck bomb cause it was on sale for $2.99. At $8.99 for a onetime use, with all the noise and all, I think they are a waste. I wasn't thinking when I set it off and due to a cross wind some got some on me. I smelled like a hot doe all day - but luckily I didn't run into Germ and his deer leg. :D |

Definitely the Butt-Out. I tried it on 2 deer this year, and all it did was tear the poop chute into peices. You're left with a bloody poopy mess after that. And you still have to use your knife to clean up the mess you made. The only thing it helped me do was get poop on my gutting knife and hands.
And the instructions don't tell you how to remove the butt out tool from the anal canal after you use it. So now you are pulling on a chunk of intestines trying to get the ten dollar piece of plastic out of the shredded bloody bunghole you just ripped to peices. I got so mad trying to use that thing I threw it at my buddy, with the mangled strip of colon still attached,who was laughing histerically at me trying to use it. [:@] |

Germ.. Did you ever think on tying a different deer hoof on your arms and legs and walking the woods. If you put doe feet on your hands and a big bucks on your feet and crab crawled you might have something.. |

my saftey harness....
havent used it in the past 2 seasons! but hopefully it remains a useless item and i NEVER find myself hanging from a tree! besides the scrape drippers and store bought scents, i really cant think of anything i bought that i found to be utterly useless.. (the saftey harness thing was JUST A JOKE...believe me, i dont leave the ground without it being attached to a tree...) |
