This is my first buck. Shot it in archery season this year in nv. 71 yard shot hit him in both lungs. Hope its the first of many.

Reno congratulation on one beautiful deer!! Your'e right I am from back east we do get a little spoiled by cover. I don't doubt your ability to shoot obviously you can, its just a deer 213ft away has a decent amount of time to react. Quick question, "are mulies as jumpy as whitetails?" I've been elk hunting and jumped them in the meadows and they seem to stand around for awhile before making up there mind to leave.

Yes they are jumpy but... The wind was blowing that day at my back at about 25 mph. He never heared the arrow leave the bow. I will get my chance to hunt back east in mn. next fall.

Did you have the buck scored yet? If so do you mind sharing with the rest of us?

Yes, The green score was 168 7/8ths. He was 28 wide and 22 tall. I made the p&y with this buck.

And here I've passed on those not so confident 30 yard shots dang it!!! What did you catch a high wind of something???

Its all about practice. You did the right thing passing on a 30 yard shot if it wasn't comfortable.
